I cant find any information about what a gas John Deere 1020 came from the factory with as far as the carburetor. Mine has a Zenith carb on it, is this factory or was it swapped out? I was under the impression that some had Zenith carbs on them.

Thanks

Have you perused the factory parts catalog available to be viewed or printed for FREE over @ www.jdparts.com?

I've owned and worked on several 1020 and 1520 tractors and haven't seen one with a Zenith yet.I would guess it's a aftermarket, but could be wrong.

I just went to Jd parts.com and to shows both, but doesnt label the one a Zenith, but it looks just like the one on my tractor. Why wouldnt they label it a Zenith?

I HAVE A JOHN DEERE PARTS CATALOG NUMBER PC 970 IT SHOWS THE CARB TO BE A MARVEL SCHEBLER NUMBER TSXU-963 THIS IS 1020 JD PARTS CATALOG I BOUGHT ONE FOR MY JD 1020 ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO FROM THE DEERE DEALER BACK THEN I THINK I GAVE 30 DOLLARS VERY USEFUL CATALOG HOPE THIS HELPS SIGNED BIG DADDY

It is true that Facet sold the Marvel-Schebler. product line to Zenith Fuel systems in 1990. But as far as I'm aware, the 1020 originally would have been constructed with a Marvel-Schebler. I have little doubt that many of them have been replaced over the years.
