Please help me ID this dirt scoop

So dirt scoops are fairly run of the mill, but I have a weird one. Its really like a 3 point back end loader. The dump cylinder is like nothing I have seen before, and acts like a hydraulic spring, if you will. With the lever in the closed position, the cylinder is extended and the bucket lays flat on the ground. Pull the lever, and the weight of what you have in the bucket compresses the cylinder, and dumps the load. When the weight of the load is out of the bucket, the pressure built from the compression of the cylinder is greater than the weight of the bucket, so it rights its self. Then, releasing the lever, the valve is closed and the cylinder remains extended. I believe this is somewhat of a home made deal, however ingenious. Can someone ID this make and model of loader for me?

Looks like something home/shopmade. Whom ever made it did a very good job! I have never seen one either.

Back in the 90s I remember a company that was selling CAD drawings for stuff like that. For a while, they were selling pre-cut kits for certain items, where all the steel components came on pallets and you did all the welding and drilling to make it according to plan. Wonder if that's what this is?

I have no idea. It came with my tractor (traded an old truck for my tractor and a few implements). This one has me puzzled. I would like to have it operational, but I need to get one of the fittings re-welded on to the reservoir because it is leaking, and in this application (or any hydraulic application really) leaking is no good. Its pretty much only for moving a small pile of dirt from one place to the next, but I believe if I rip up some dirt with my harrow then I may be able to scoop from that. I have an electric actuator from a sprayer at work (to lift the booms) that I was thinking about wiring up and figuring out how to mount (its about 2 inches longer than the hydraulic cylinder on it), but I dont know if that would be more of a headache than its worth.
