Nice looking tractor. I've had this since 1971. Hal

How does that work? Looks too simple, small and unsafe!! Looks unusual.

Do you have any top view pics?

You might be able to sell it for $300+(very rough guestimate) to a collector. The value is whatever the buyer is willing to pay.

I put it in storage for the winter, but I will get some pictures of it and post it. I did take a quick video of it working with my phone, but not sure how to upload it.

(quoted from post at 09:49:46 10/27/14) I would love to have it at a reasonable price for mine, but shipping would kill me.

Where are you located?

Nice looking tractor! I grew up just like the one I posted except it had hydraulic lift. We have the tiller attachment for it and a blade that goes underneath the tractor. We also have a 14 hp Wards parts tractor.

The tractor I posted above is the first one I've seen with a black Briggs engine on that doesn't have the starter/generator on it.

Gilson switched to the direct start Briggs in '74. I have two just like yours with the direct start and dual circuit alternator. One was bought new by my Grandfather in '75 as a left over model. I have a tiller, sleeve hitch, dual wheel adapters, snow blade, snow blower, weights, single bottom plow, ag tires and turf tires, and a 4K watt PTO generator for mine.

I'm trying to find a 14 hp direct replacement for the 16 hp. Any ideas?
Hi why do you want to go to a 14 hp engine, you know the 14 - 15 & 16 hp B&S are the same just have different max RPM ratings.

No, I was not aware of that. What are the RPM ranges for the 14, 15, and 16 hp engines?
What part of MN are you in?
