FMD Cam bearings needed

I am having a time looking for Cam bearings for a Fordson Major Diesel. Any one have any?

Hi Don, sorry but unless you find someone that had a NOS set squirreled away you probably won’t find any. They have been unavailable for many years now, there are one or two venders that have them listed but when I call for availability they don’t have them. Your choices aren’t very pleasant, use the old ones, get a replacement block (they came without bearings unless it was a reman engine), have a machine shop make some brass ones, or find someone that can rebabit and remachine the old inserts. I once went through a vendors complete listing of every cam bearing they sold and found a few that were close to the correct ID/OD , you could drill the oil holes in the correct place but if I remember correctly the front one would have to be doubled up. Also if you drill oil holes in them make sure the hole is the same size as the port in the block and lined up exactly in the same place, at least on the center bearing that feeds oil to the valve train, trust me, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
