Red Diamond engines?

I found several International engines and need some help identifying them. Three say Red Diamond cast into the block. Stamped into the flat spot on the block on 2, say rd 401 and one says RD450LPG. There are 3 engines that have IH cast where the others have Red Diamond. These are out of trucks also, one is still in a R200. Also there is a power unit engine. None of these have the two piece exhaust manifolds but rather a three piece manifold. Could these be red diamonds also? I have seen a pic of a RD 501 and it had two exhaust manifolds that were 3 banks each. What is the best way to identify these engines?

What is it you're wanting to know? The rd450 Is a Red Diamond 450...
Look an awful lot like the one in my '4? KB8. I think they're just about worth what the scrap man will give you. Or at least that's where I think Mine will end up--and it runs w/ good oil pressure...

Pullers are using them, so I think they may be worth more than junk price. The last photo looks more like the black diamond series.

Those are RD engines alright, except the last pic as FSC pointed out

Pullers do use them, just not like they used to though

Where are you located and what are you going to do with them? i have an RD450 in an R-202 truck and i would be interested in at least the manifold if your going to sell/scrap them

If you guys are going to scrap these, I wouldn't mind having one or two of these around if they're not too far away. Just in case I ever want to put one in a W-40.

The engine on the bottom looks like a Silver Diamond or a Black Diamond...but the PCV valve instead of a vent tube makes me think it might actually be a BG-series...which is a BD engine with a PCV valve.

Hey Buzzman, are these BD-engines all the same, like when used in 460-560s they call them C-whatevers, or are they genuinely different?

We are interested in purchasing 3-5 RD450 engines. Regardless of RD or IH notation. We have several that we run all the time and have an extensive parts inventory. We would be delighted to pay finders fee or pay gross amount.

We generally pay $500 to $1,200 bucks for these running. Locked up is generally cheaper.

Hi
I have a U-450 IH power unit that I am interested in selling. I also have a U-308 power unit that I would be interested in selling. I have operators manuals for both engines.

They are similar but share very few parts in common. Smaller bolts to mount the front cover to the block. Crankshaft, rods , pistons, camshaft, timing gears are all different and will not interchange.

They do share the same mounting bolt pattern on the rear and they use the same gaskets.

Hi GR Gold,

The red diamond engine that is still in the truck, is that available for sale and what type of truck is it in?

Thanks

cheers

Graeme

(quoted from post at 11:47:57 02/23/16) I still have both engines and they are both still for sale.
Hi where are you based and how much are they ? Can you tell me what engine model they are and what condition they are in thanks

I am located in northeast Nebraska. One is a red diamond u-450 and one is a u-308. They were used for irrigation and have been stored inside since they were retired about 5 years ago. Neither one of them is stuck.

. Tom, I sent you a message with my email address, if you didn't get it let me know here and I will try something different.
