went and looked at 941 today

overall i like the looks of it, the sprockets look good but looks like the links are kinda wore kind thin around the pins? they pins still feel smooth and aint been turned. it got a measurement of about 7 inches on the 5 pin average. it cranked and ran and drove alright easy to steer, they guy showed me how to drive it and told me to stop it push both the left and right steering at the same time and it would stop and said middle pedal was brake. after i left i talked to another guy and he says when you push the middle brake lever the whole machine should stop pulling and come to a stop but when i pushed the middle pedal i dont think it was making it stop but i didnt know it was supposed to at the time so wasnt really trying to much. is it supposed to stop moving when you push it down or is it just if your rolling in neutrul to stop you? also after i turned it off and was taking pictures i noticed a drip coming from underneath on the right side about mid ways, i took a short video im going to post of the drip. what ever was dripping was clear didnt smell and wasnt oily feeling sounds like water but not sure where it would be coming from?

had it rained recently or been sitting much? rain water takes a long time to make its way out sometimes especially if it hasn't been ran on any slopes

You need to jam something in the sprocket at the top and reverse back a bit to stretch the track, then measure across four links, five pins center to center and see what the measurement is,measure the hight of the link from the pad to where the roller runs, they look worn, you need to count the links as it is showing six inches adjustment at the idler,I think a link may have been removed, the sprockets look good, the machine does not have a nudge pedal,to stop the machine you shift to neutral and press the middle pedal, the other two pedals are for steering the machine, check the coolant to see if there is antifreeze in it and check if the drip for it too,if none its probably as said above rainwater trapped in the belly pan.

I also use the brake at low idle when i need a little forward movement like when loading trucks

Steven Is this the one at L & L equipment? If so I played with it about a month ago or longer and found no problems. Decent little machine. I suspect your leak was rain water in the belly pan. At least I did not see anything when I looked at it. Had a young guy that really wanted it but could not get things right on the money.

One thing that makes me wonder about the 941 is that in looking at your picture of the rails, the track is on backwards. Pins are in the back not the front. It make me wonder, what else has been done improperly to it.

i have not noticed that. what would this do?

Tracks had to be taken off and remounted backwards-
You should really count the number of links, the spacing over 4 links, and the depth of the rails to determine how worn they are.
