You wrote this 6/14 in the "Allis C Magneto With NO Spark" Posting on the Allis Chalmers site.

[u:4c46530dbd]You need to start by cleaning the points. If the condenser is bad. You will have fire at the points but not through the coil. Fairbanks magneto seen to have more bad coils than other brands.

There is a guy on ebay selling FM coils for Mercury outboard motors. They are much cheaper. I have used three of them with no trouble.

Could you elaborate more on this coil, like model#, part# or anything else that would help identify the coil? Also who is the guy selling them? Any and all help is appreciated by me and I'm sure by others who read this post.

Looks like there is bad news on the coil front. For some reason I Could not find the coil in My Ebay. I had to search through my purchase history to find him. His ebay store is APA marine store. The coil is nolonger listed. It was part number 397-430 FM200. The last one I bought was last summer and cost $38.00. The item number was 322087699885. This is depressing as I have used many of these coils in type J and x magnetos. They were half price of most parts houses. Also with a little reworking this coil would fit the Case model 41.

The same coil but comes in a different box is available from mcdonaldscarb.com. $64.95 with free shipping. Part number R2477C.

Thank you Tractorguy.
I have located a number sites with new coils with those exact same numbers 397-430 FM200 and exact same pictures, for $35 and free shipping.
They all seem to have (********.top) for theirs site url, instead of (********.com).
They all seem to be the same Web page setup except for slight differences.
None have a phone contact number, but they all have a (Fill Out form) to Email them thru their sites for (Contact Us Info).
I also notice they are not on Ebay or Amazon either.
I Don't think I would give up my credit card on one of these sites just yet. Gonna have to check into em more.
