duetz allis parts always so expensive?

Working on a Duetz Allis 6275, needed to reseal the steering cylinder. From a dealer, the seal kit was $430, included 2 u packings, 2 wiper seals, 2 back up rings, 1 piston seal, 4 teflon wear rings, and 2 orings. Got the parts at a local hyd shop for $70. Bushings were out of blower motor, ruined the housing and shaft. Depending on serial number one blower motor (just the motor) was $642 and if it was the other serial no it was going to be $970. Went to the hardware store instead, bought some metric bearings for an electric drill motor for $10 each that fit on the good part of the shaft, and machined some bosses for them out of some steel bushings I had. Disassembled the motor, centered the bushing bosses on the moter housing ends, and brazed them on. Reassemebled motor and staked both ends of the shaft to keep it from walking back and forth, took me about an hour to do. But I think thats crazy for parts prices, must be because they have to come from overseas im guessing? Ross

Agco doesn't want to keep buying parts from Same Deutz Fahr reason why it cost so much from Agco. Usually Agco will discontinued it because no will buy it. Better to get your parts from a Same Deutz Fahr dealer if you have a Deutz or Deutz Allis tractor.

Deutz parts were always competitive with other makes until Deutz sold Deutz-Allis to Agco and Agco intentionally tried to screw over the Deutz dealers and customers. I was a Deutz dealer and later worked for a Deutz-Allis and MF dealer that dropped all Agco lines after Agco took over MF

Interesting, I wondered if that was the case. Luckily, the tractor is not mine. The guy who owns it said it was an awesome deal at an agco dealer, didn't say how awesome though. I just thought, "I'll bet" lol. Hopefully he will ship it along out of the area.

Price a blower motor for almost anything these days. I turned the comutator and filed down a set of starter brushes to fix my Kubota's blower as they wanted 700$ for the assembly. No individual parts available via kubota or 2 motor shops I visited.
